Bible Verses for Financial Breakthrough

1. (Matthew 6:31-34): “So don’t stress about deciding what to eat, drink, or wear. For the Gentiles seek all of these things, and your heavenly Father knows you need them all. But seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness, and all else will be added to you.” As a result, don’t worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. ” For the time being, its own agony is enough.”

Many people have memorized this verse since it is one of the most powerful in the Bible. “Work earnestly first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness,” most people say, yet “all these things” includes considerations about what we will eat, dress, and drink.

In first-century Judea, the majority of individuals worked for a living every day. That is, they got paid for working for the day. They had no guarantees concerning tomorrow’s work or wages, so worrying about the next day (tomorrow) came easier for them than it is for us now, but the anxiety was not unique to Judea in the first century.

We are obsessed with what will happen tomorrow today when God only promises enough grace for today. That is why Jesus stated it is a waste of time to worry about tomorrow because “enough for the day is its own difficulty.”

2. Malachi 3:10-11: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse so I can eat.” Put me to the test, declares the Lord of hosts, by opening the windows of heaven for you and pouring down a blessing until you no longer need it. Declares the Lord of Hosts, “I will admonish the devourer for you so that it does not damage your soil’s products and your field vine does not fail to bear.”

Only the Bible allows us to put God to the test. Bring your tithes in and try God to see if He won’t “open the windows of heaven” for us and “pour down a…blessing till there is no more need,” and if He won’t even “rebuke the devourer for” us.

That is if we trust God enough to provide offerings, He promises to bless us with blessings that will overflow until we have “no more need.” Try God by being faithful and generous in meeting the needs of the kingdom, and He will bless us beyond our greatest expectations.

3. Philippians 4:19: “And my God will supply all of your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Given that God owns everything, is it too difficult to trust Him to provide for your or your family’s needs? If that’s the case, why do we, including myself, continue to be concerned about things that God has promised to take care of? God provides for all of our needs, but not our greed. Why don’t we trust Him and take His word for it? He knows exactly what we need today and tomorrow, so why don’t we trust Him and take His word for it?

The actual treasures are already in our possession if we have repented and believed in Christ. Everything else is secondary to salvation, but it’s all too easy to become engrossed in our wants and needs, especially when God promises to meet all of them.

4. Matthew 6:26: “Consider how the birds of the air live: they don’t sow, reap, or store food in barns, but they’re fed by your heavenly Father. Isn’t it true that you’re more valuable than they are?”

Have you ever observed a bird becoming obsessed with its own requirements? Is it even feasible for them to consider the future? Have you ever seen a melancholy bird that has stopped chirping? No, they don’t need to work or save for the future since God feeds them now, and since we know God values us above all other created things, why wouldn’t He do the same for us because we are “of greater worth than they?”

5. Luke 6:38: “You will receive if you give.” The good measure will be placed on your lap, squeezed down, shaken together, and repeated over and over again. Because how you give will be used to measure it back to you.” I appreciate Jesus’ depiction of giving. If we donate, God will return to us “in good measure, crushed down, shaken together,” and “flowing over [to] be spilled into [our] lap.”

Imagine providing for your family on a daily basis but only being paid for the days you work. This was the case for many in 1st-century Judea. Consider receiving payment in the form of coins from a bag. You open your money bag to retrieve your day’s pay, which is delivered to you in great sums before being “pressed down” to make room for more.

After that, your money bag is shaken to settle the coins and make room for more cash. After that, the boss continues to pour coins into your money bag until it overflows over your lap. When I read this statement, this is the image that comes to mind because God says that “the measure you use will be returned to you.”

6. Proverbs 3:9-10: “If you worship the Lord with your money, your barns will be bursting at the seams with food, and your vats will be overflowing with wine.” Giving to the Lord is a method of expressing gratitude for your faith in Him. So, what does it mean to “honor the Lord with your wealth”? “Your barns will be brimming with produce, and your vats will be bursting at the seams with wine,” he says.

Remember that when this was written, there were no banks as there are now. Thus barns were the only location to keep excess food. Having “vats…bursting with wine” suggested that there would always be enough food and drink, but only provided you worshiped God with your contributions.

Because wine is a symbol of joy, it’s possible that contributing to the Lord will bring you joy and that when you give back to God, you honor Him by displaying your trust in Him by filling your barns and vats.

7. Luke 16:10-11: “A person who is faithful in a minor matter is also faithful in a huge matter, and a person who is dishonest in a small matter is similarly dishonest in a large one.” Who will bless you with true riches if you have not been trustworthy with unrighteous wealth?”

The goods we have were given to us by God. Despite the fact that most of us in the Western world is far wealthier than the bulk of the world’s population, studies show that the wealthy give far less than the impoverished.

Those who have been given much are expected to offer even more (Luke 12:48), but those who have little but have been faithful with what they have will be given even more (Luke 12:50). (Luke 12:50). When the redeemed receive their benefits, those who were faithful in tiny things will be rewarded greatly, and they will be entrusted with even more.

Conclusion

Why shouldn’t we have faith in God, who is the sole owner of all things? Why not give back to God, who owns everything and of which we are but stewards? Why do we have a habit of worrying about tomorrow today? Why don’t we put God to the test in the one place where we have the authority to do so: in our offerings to Him? He promises to meet all of our needs, just as He does for the birds of the sky, who don’t care what they eat or drink tomorrow.

If you honor the Lord, He will return to you in such a way that it overflows into your lap, and if you have little and are faithful with it, He will entrust you to be faithful in much more in the future. You must choose whether to trust your sight or God, whom you cannot see. Our senses may deceive us, but God never does.
I hope these passages encourage you to pray for your family’s financial circumstances. I pray that He will provide for you at the appropriate time and in the appropriate season.
