I had a friend who also misplaced his WAEC certificate. He forgot it in a public car while traveling to Onitsha, Nigeria. After doing some enquiries, he discovered how to get his certificate and he was able to get it back. Yes! that is exactly what i will explain to you today. I will show you how my friend was able to recover his WAEC certificate without any problem. Nonetheless, i must confess that this procedure is not very easy. It is very stressful and tiring.

Note: After following this tutorial, you will be able to recover your “WAEC Attestation of Result” not the “Original WAEC Certificate”. WAEC does not give out original certificates twice. Conversely, it is probably impossible to recover your exert WAEC certificate again. You can only get “WAEC Attestation of Result” which can be used for anything the original certificate can be used for.

Attestation of result was introduced by WAEC in August 10, 2015. According the examination board, this attestation of result is meant to replace the original result when it is lost. Below is a tweet by WAEC explaining this:

Can WAEC Attestation of Result be used in place of original WAEC result?

For sure! WAEC attestation of result can be used for any thing the original WAEC result can be used for. Even if you intend to gain admission abroad, you can still use your WAEC attestation of result as long as it was issued to you by WAEC. So there is absolutely no need to doubt whether WAEC attestation of result can be used in place of WAEC.

Does WAEC attestation of result look like the original WAEC certificate?

Yes! there is no much difference between WAEC attestation of result and WAEC certificate. The only difference is on the title of the two documents. In WAEC Attestation of result, the document is titled “ATTESTATION OF RESULT” . On the other hand, WAEC certificate is titled “CERTIFICATE“. This is basically the difference between “WAEC Attestation of Result” and “WAEC certificate”

Below is a tweet showing an example of WAEC attestation of result. It looks just like the original result but there is a little difference between the two.
