Does UI accept people that make them second choice?
No! The University of Ibadan (UI) does not not accept second choice candidates when giving admission. To corroborate this, the university has categorically stated in her website that admission is strictly for those that made the university their first choice of institution during jamb registration.
In light of the above, candidates that make the University of Ibadan (UI) their second choice of institution are actually wasting their time because UI will most probably not offer them admission. However, there is actually a solution for those who have already made the university their second choice. As we continue, i will explain to you how to change UI from your first choice.
Why UI does not accept second choice candidates
Just like I explained, the University of Ibadan (UI) is probably the most competitive university in Nigeria. Aside that, the university is one of the best universities in Nigeria and in the world. Due to these facts, UI usually have about 1 million people applying for admission every year.
So, in order to reduce the high number of aspirants the university usually have, the management of UI always restrict admission to only candidates that made the university their first choice of institution. This way, the university will be able to first out the best students among the millions of students that apply for admission into the university in Nigeria.
What to do if you have already made UI your second choice of institution
If you have already made UI your second choice before reading this post, then there is one tentative solution for you. Quickly apply for JAMB change of course and institution form for not more that N3,000 (three thousand Naira only). This form will allow you to, either replace UI with another school that accepts second choice candidates or to make UI your first choice.
Hopefully this will work for you. However, you must apply for the JAMB change of course and institution form as early as possible because there is usually a deadline for application.
