Well, as at the time this article was written, I am a student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). One striking thing that made me fall in love with UNN is because they usually offer scholarships opportunities to students who are doing exceptionally well in their academics. You might lucky get a scholarship in this school if you are doing very well.

It should however be noted that UNN is one of the most competitive tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Just last year UNN had about 500,000 aspirants from JAMB. When it comes to teaching, UNILAG is not bad at all. Evidently, students of this school have participated in most of the international and local competitions competitions in Nigeria. For instance, in the recent All Nigerian University Moot Competition conducted at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), students of UNILAG was among the top 3 in the debate. Accordingly, students of the Faculty of law, University of Lagos have been appointed severally, to represent Nigeria in many international competitions. UNIZIK was named after one of the nationalist of Nigeria, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe. Over the years, the Nnamdi Azikiwe University has produced thousands of great personalities. For example, Mike Ezuruonye, Oge Okoye etc.

It will surprise you to know that Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) came after the closure of Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH) for some reasons. The University was created in 1980 to take over from the Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH) and to foster education in Anambra state, Nigeria.

As at the time this article was written, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has 14 faculties viz:

Frankly speaking, this university is not very popular. Though it has been fully accredited by the National University Commission (NUC). Since the university is a federal university, then no kind of student is restricted from applying in the school.

Again, i am sure that many students will not want to apply for admission in the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta because it carries the world “Agriculture“. Well, that should not deter you at all. The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta does not only offer agricultural related courses. In my view, this should be the first choice of institution for students who want to enroll in any field that concerns Petroleum but lacks the enough money. It is worthwhile to know that the Federal University of Petroleum Resources is not for study every course. Its basic purpose is to train students in the field.

Well, in case you don’t know, this university is one of the newest universities in Nigeria. Wikipedia records that the first set of undergraduates who graduated from the university, left the school in 2008. So you see, the university is not yet overpopulated yet. Though, i believe that with time, this university will become one of the popular universities in Nigeria. School fee in the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) is very cheap. Their school fee ranges from N37,000 – N80,000. You can give them a try.
