Location of ESUT And Post UTME Campuses

The Campuses at Abakaliki, Awka, and Nnewi became universities
When Enugu State separated from the former Anambra State in 1991, the two former ASUTECH campuses in Awka and Nnewi became the State University for Anambra State, which is now owned by the Federal Government and known as Nnamdi Azikiwe University. In contrast, the campuses in Enugu and Abakiliki formed ESUT. In the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, ESUT built a new campus at Adada Nkpologwu where students studying applied social sciences and natural sciences were housed.

Each of the three campuses in the state’s Enugu, Abakailiki, and Nsukka Zones had four colleges under the direction of a Provost. ESUT lost its Abakaliki campus, which contains the Colleges of Medicine and Agriculture when Ebonyi State was formed in 1996 from the old Enugu and Abia States. Naturally, the newly created state of Ebonyi turned the campuses into what is currently known as Ebonyi State University.
