Does EBSU accept candidates that make them second choice? This is probably one of the most asked question among aspirants seeking to gain admission into the prestigious Ebony State University (also known as EBSU). Undoubtedly, it is very important to know whether a particular institution accepts second choice candidates before making that institution your second choice.
The reason is because, if you apply for admission into any school that does not accept second choice candidates, and you actually made that school your second choice, then you are in a big problem. Trust me; that school will definitely not give you admission.
Thus, to help all the aspirants of EBSU that wishes to make the Institution their second choice, i have decided to publicly answer the question; “Does EBSU offer admission to people that make them second choice?” Please read this post carefully as I quickly give an answer to your question. Meanwhile, I would like you to know some important things about Ebony State University first.
About the prestigious Ebonyi State University (EBSU)
Ebonyi State University (Also called EBSU) is one of the popular state universities in Nigeria. It is also one of the best state universities in Nigeria currently. The university was established to help in the growth and development of great personalities in the society. Due to the fact that EBSU is one of the best state universities in Nigeria, the university has apparently become one of the most sorted universities in Nigeria now. Few years ago, EBSU was one of the state universities in Nigeria with the highest number of aspirants in Nigeria. This is to tell you how competitive the university is. Conversely, it is very difficult to gain admission into EBSU these days.
It is important to also note that EBSU does not conduct post UTME screening examination, but is still very tough to gain admission into the school anyway. They also don’t release a yearly cutoff mark for admitting aspirants.
Does EBSU offer admission to people that make them second choice?
The answer is No! Ebonyi State University (EBSU) does not accept people that make them second choice in JAMB. In fact, the management of the university has publicly announced that their admission is only open to students that made them first choice during JAMB registration.
So, if you applied for admission into EBSU, and you made the university your second choice, you are actually wasting your time. The university does not offer admission to second choice candidates. A friend of mine registered and applied for admission in EBSU last year. But even after scoring up to 276 in JAMB UTME examination, he still couldn’t study economics in the university.
If you have already applied for EBSU as your second choice, you can still change that anyway. Simply apply for JAMB change of course and institution form for just N2,500. With JAMB change of course and institution form, you can actually decide to change EBSU from your second choice of institution to first choice. Alternatively, you can totally remove the institution and replace it with another school.
Note: To make the correction above, you need to apply for JAMB change of course and institution form as soon as possible. There is usually a deadline line for applying for this form.

Just like I have already explained, Ebonyi State University (EBSU) is one of the prestigious eastern universities in Nigeria. It is also one of the most sorted universities in Nigeria too. So, by restricting her admission to only students that made them first choice, the university is trying to reduce the huge number of aspirants they usually have yearly.
Another reason why EBSU don’t accept second choice candidates is to enable the university fish the best aspirants out of the huge number of aspirants they usually have yearly.
