The University of Lagos (Popularly known as UNILAG) is one of the best universities in Nigeria. It is also one of the most popular and cheapest universities any one can attend in Nigeria. Apparently, the university is a federal institution, with about 55,000 students currently studying there.
UNILAG is one of the first universities that was created in Nigeria. It was established in 1964, few years after Nigeria got her independence, to help in improving the level of education among Nigerian youths.
When it comes to offering admission to aspirants, i must confess that UNILAG is very strict. As you already know, over 50 thousand students apply for admission into the university every year.
So, the management of UNILAG always do everything they can to fish out out the best students out of the overwhelming number of aspirants. Below, i will answer the question as to whether UNILAG accept second choice candidates for admission or not.
Does UNILAG accept people that make them second choice?
No! The University of Lagos (UNILAG) does not accept candidates that make them second choice in JAMB when offering admission. Be it UTME or Direct Entry candidate, UNILAG won’t accept any second choice candidate for admission.
Consequently, candidates who made UNILAG their second choice of institution in JAMB are actually wasting their time because the university will eventually not give them admission.
In fact, the management of UNILAG said, in their website, that admission into the institution is strictly for students who made the university their first choice.
Why UNILAG does not accept second choice candidates for admission
Just like I have said already, UNILAG is one of the most sorted universities in Nigeria currently. The university usually have too many aspirants every year. So, in order to reduce the total number of person that apply for admission into the institution, they decided to restrict admission to only those that made them first choice of institution in JAMB.
Sometimes, even first choice candidates of the institution end up not gaining admission into the institution because of how competitive it is.
What to do if you have already made UNILAG your second choice
Well, if you have already made the University of Lagos (UNILAG) you second choice, there is a solution for you. Quickly apply for JAMB change of course and institution form now. The price is not more than N3,000 (three thousand naira only). It will enable you to, either make UNILAG your first choice or totally replace it with another institution.
Note that there is usually a deadline for this form. So you have to purchase it as soon as possible.
