UNIZIK is one of the best universities in Nigeria. The university is located in the eastern part of Nigeria. It will surprise you to know that UNIZIK is actually one of the federal universities established to promote learning an development among Nigerian youths. It was established in 1991 at Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Ifite Road, Awka, Nigeria.

Even though UNIZIK is apparently one of the youngest universities in Nigeria, the university is really doing well. Currently, UNIZIK has about 3 campuses in the country. No! The prestigious Nnanmdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) does not accept second choice candidates. In other words, UNIZIK does not offer admission to people that make them a second choice.

Any aspirant of UNIZIK who makes UNIZIK a second choice is actually wasting his/her time. In fact, the registrar of the university has publicly promulgated that admission into the school is strictly for those that made them first choice in JAMB.

To further corroborate this, my close friend who applied for UNIZIK admission in 2017, was not offered admission even after meeting all the admission requirements and cutoff marks stipulated by the university. So, it is not about meeting up with the cutoff mark of the school. If you don’t make UNIZIK you first choice, there is no admission for you.

Why UNIZIK does not accept second choice candidates for admission

I discovered, recently, that most federal universities in Nigeria don’t accept candidates that make them second choice. And like every other federal university, UNIZIK does not. The reason is because, UNIZIK is one of the most sorted and competitive universities in Nigeria.

So, in order to reduce the number of admission seekers that apply for admission in the university every year, the university usually give admission to only that made them first choice in JAMB. This also enables the university to pick only the best candidates out of the millions that apply for admission every year.

What to do if UNIZIK you have already made UNIZIK your second choice

If you have already made Nnanmdi Azikiwe University your second choice, then there is actually a solution for you. Quickly purchase JAMB change of course and institution form as soon as it is out. With that form, you will be able to make UNIZIK your first choice or totally substitute the university for another one. Please note that JAMB change of course and institution form has a deadline. So if you don’t purchase it on time, you won’t be able to change UNIZIK from your second choice any longer.
