UNILORIN Admission Requirements 2023/2024: While I was doing some research yesterday, I found out that one of the top questions asked by aspirants of the prestigious University of Ilorin every year is; “What are the requirements for admission into UNILORIN?”.

As a matter of fact, when i checked my personal email this morning, about 5 students sent me messages asking the same question.

So, I have decided to publicly give an answer to that question here. Today, i will share with you UNILORIN admission requirements for UTME and Direct Entry admission. In cases you do not know, UNILORIN admission requirements are like the criteria for gaining admission into the university. Thus, candidates that do not meet their requirements may not be offered admission into the university. This is exactly why you should pay attention to every paragraph in this page.

About the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN)

Undoubtedly, UNILORIN is one of the best universities in Nigeria. In almost all the rankings of institutions on the internet, UNILORIN is always among the top 5. This should tell you that the university is obviously a good place to study.

Accordingly to Wikipedia, UNILORIN was established in 1975 to implement one of the educational directives of the Third National Development Plan which was aimed at providing more opportunities for Nigerians aspiring to acquire university education and to generate high-level manpower, so vital for the rapidly expanding economy.

It will surprise you to know that the University of Ilorin is one of the most populated in Nigeria currently. The university has thousands of students currently studying in it. This is as a result of the competitive nature of the school.

Frankly speaking, UNILORIN is very competitive. The university is, in fact, one of the most competitive schools in Nigeria. Conversely, it is also very difficult to gain admission without beating the requirements of the school.

The true is that; even though UNILORIN is very competitive, the school management will always offer admission to candidates that actually meet the requirements of the school. As we continue I will show you the UTME and Direct Entry admission requirements of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).

UNILORIN admission requirements for UTME candidates 2023/2024

Below are the requirements for candidates that want to gain admission into UNILORIN through UTME:

• Candidates must process O‘level credit grade in 5 different subjects (English and mathematics inclusive). This could be in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB or any other equivalent result.
• Candidates must score at least 200 in the just concluded JAMB UTME examination to qualify for UNILORIN post UTME.
• Candidates must make the University of Ilorin their first choice of institution during JAMB Registration. UNILORIN does not accept second choice candidates for admission.
• UTME candidates must choose the correct and official subject combination for their courses to be considered for admission.
• Candidates must partake and pass excellently well in UNILORIN post UTME screening.

NOTE: UTME aspirants of UNILORIN should note that the university actually accept two sittings result for some course. Thus, you can choose to use two O’level results for admission. See how to combine WAEC and NECO results for admission here!

IMPORTANT: UNILORIN does not accept two sittings result for UTME candidates aspiring to study medicine and surgery. Accordingly, candidates that wants to study medicine must score up to 240 in their JAMB UTME examination. The correct subject combination for medicine and surgery is; English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

UNILORIN admission requirements for direct entry candidates 2023/2024

Below are the requirements for Direct entry admission into the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN):

• Direct entry candidates must possess at least, two A’ Level passes chosen from course related to their area of study.
• Direct entry candidates must also process O’level credit grade in 5 different subjects (English and mathematics inclusive). This could be in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB or any other equivalent result.
• Candidates must purchase UNILORIN direct entry form the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
• Candidates must also participate in UNILORIN post UTME screening and pass the examination excellently.
• Above are the general requirements for direct entry admission into the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).

The University of Ilorin values and honors its enormous cultural history. Face Tanke: Tanke means an area in Ilorin and when you face tanke, it means expulsion or suspension or rustication.

Korope: This is a popular word for a vehicle which is used for transport by people who have no interest in Taxi.

Spill-splash-splosh: Spill means one extra year, splash means two extra years, splosh means 3 extra years in the University.

S: It is usually used by big boys and big girls. It means permanent site to meet and gist.

Jacking: This means reading.

Off-K: It means off campus.
