Does LASU offer admission to candidates that make them second choice?
No! Lagos State University (LASU) does not offer admission to candidates that make them a second choice in JAMB. The university has made this known several times. When LASU post UTME examination was announced last year, the university stated that her admission is only open for those that made the university a first choice of institution.
Conversely, if you are an aspirant of the prestigious LASU and the university is actually your second choice, then you are wasting your time. The management of the university has stated that admission is only open to first choice candidates.
That notwithstanding, there is actually a solution if you really want to change LASU from your second choice to your first choice. The solution is to apply for JAMB change of course and institution form. With this form, you can decide to make LASU you first choice of institution or totally replace the university with another university that accepts second choice candidates.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) knows that some candidates are going to make mistakes like this, and that is why they made provision for JAMB change of course and institution form.
Nonetheless, there is usually a deadline for applying for the form. I enjoin you to quickly apply for the form if you want to make LASU your first choice or if you want to replace the school with another institution.
Why Lagos State University does not accept second choice candidates
As a well known state university in Nigeria, LASU is the dream of millions of students in Nigeria. Based on this, it can be inferred that the reason why LASU does not accept candidates that make them a second choice is actually to reduce the number of candidates that apply for admission into the university every year.
The policy of not accepting candidates that makes LASU a second choice also keeps the university reputable and help the university to fish the best aspirants out of the millions of students that apply for admission every year. Hope this helps?
